Yesterday's Garden Observations
- Roses are blooming like crazy and smell wonderful! Many have made it into the house and I catch their scent as I move from room to room.
- The Carolina Jessamine that's in pots on the new patio are quickly climbing up their trellises.
- Lots of little sprouts in the wildflower bed along the alley. I'm hoping to have flowers instead of weeds and trash.
- The tomatoes are starting to flower. No fruit set yet.
- The cucumber babies are getting their second sets of leaves.
- The petunias that I grew from seed under the grow lights are now all blooming in their hanging baskets outside. The impatiens started the same way are starting to bloom as well. I feel so successful!
- The Texas Betony in the new perennial bed out front is starting to bloom and the Coreopsis is getting close.
- Amaryllis are past their peak and are starting to droop.
- Dig up liriope along side path bed. It's taking up valuable planting space for the iris.
- Limb up the Mountain Laurel on West side of house.
- Prune the pink Indian Hawthorne out front. It's crowding the plumbago.
- Take out 2-3 of the yaupon hollies that are out front because they've grown too big for the space.
- Dig up the grass that has invaded around the thrift.
- Cut in the new stepping stones in the back yard. (Got 2 done on Saturday)
